Job abstractJV_description
The Microsystem Technology Research Unit is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated,
independent researcher in the design of A/D mixed signal integrated circuits for the
multiplexing, signal readout and data management of array of sensors. The candidate is
expected to design ASIC and develop system prototypes based on discrete components for
sensor electronics. Expertise on IC CAD design tools (e.g. Cadence, or other CAD for
microelectronic design) will be a preferential requirement.
Job tags: A/D mixed signal integrated circuits, low power electronics, sensor electronics.
Main Tasks:
• Conduct IC design and testing tasks for the assigned research projects;
• Develop system architecture and prototypes.
• Interact daily with the research team to interpret the operative needs and requirements;
• Report regularly on project status;
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with the Unit’s Head and other project members,
providing assistance and technical support;
• Review research deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
Required:
• Master degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent;
• PhD in Electronic or Materials Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry or
equivalent; Candidates in the final stage of their PhD may be considered, as well as
candidates with at least three years of equivalent experience;
At least two years of research experience in the field of CMOS analog and mixed-signal
IC/System design with experience in analog front-end design (sensor readout circuit with
amplifiers, filters and ADC);
• Analog mixed-signal modeling;
• Low power design experience EDA tools experience (mainly Cadence but also Synopsys
and Mentor Graphics) with experience in SPICE simulation;
• Strong enthusiasm for work
• Good knowledge of Italian language.
• Time management, planning, and development skills;
• Accuracy, flexibility, proactivity, and goal orientation;
• Teamwork approach, good communication and relational skills to ensure smooth and
successful interaction with other CMM Research Unit Teams.
Preferred requirements:
• Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication technologies;
• Participation in international projects and research teams;
• Ability to work autonomously.
Employment:
Type of contract: Fixed Term Contract - full time
Gross annual salary: about 39.300 €
Start date: The expected starting date is April, 2019.
Duration: The total duration of the employment contract shall be 24 months and may be
renewed based on the goal achievement for additional 12 months. In any case the contract
cannot exceed the duration of the project.
