2 Senior Developers in the Smart Community Unit (SC)

The candidates will work in the scope of the projects of the SC initiative, with the role of Senior Developers. The role requires working to the design and development of the software platforms and applications produced by SC in the scope of its research and innovation projects, in collaboration with the staff of the development lab of the unit. Typical tasks will include: • Design of new software components and systems and re-design of existing software components and systems • Development, quality assurance and operation of the software • Monitoring of novel technologies and evaluation of their suitability for adoption in software systems • Coordination of teams of junior developers. Job requirements: • M.Sc. in Computer Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent degrees) • Proved experience (6 or more years) of development with the J2EE platform • Strong experience with technologies and middleware solutions for service integration (Enterprise Service Bus, SOAP and REST web services) • Experience in participation to research projects and collaboration with research teams • Oral and written proficiency in English • Team work attitude, good communication and relational skills • Strong decision making, problem solving and planning skills Additional requirements • Experience with the technologies adopted by the SC software platform: o Spring Integration, OSGi, Maven, Hibernate o JBoss and Tomcat containers o SQL (MySQL, Postgress) and NOSQL databases (MongoDB) • Knowledge of the platforms SmartCampus, SmartObject, SmartPlanner Employment: Type of contract: fixed-term employee (38 h per week) Duration: around 3 years, starting between June and August 2016.
