Job abstractJV_description Starting from mid-2019, the MNF cleanrooms will be extended and equipped with new  fabrication instrumentation, including new nanofabrication equipment (focused ion beam -FIB/ electron beam lithography - EBL). The latter is expected to integrate and innovate theFBK facility to fulfil nowadays research and technology requests.In this context, we are looking for a Researcher who will run an innovative tool devoted tonanofabrication, with particular reference to electron beam lithography processes. The mainactivities to be carried out will be: Development of EBL technique, as requested by the strategic program of CMM, inMNF cleanroom:▫ learning the basic chemical-physics mechanisms of EBL;▫ learning how to operate the new instrumentation. This activity will require atraining at the instrument supplier factory, implying a period of up to a monthabroad in Europe; bringing the new instrumentation to the status of fully operative, supporting the phase of installation and testing.Running the nanofabrication equipment: testing the instrument for the MNF requests, investigating all the offered capabilities, defining operative protocols; operating the EBL complimentary processes, in particular the sample preparation (cleaning, resist deposition, resist development) and characterization (SEM imaging and relative image processing); interacting with MNF personnel in order to integrate the nanofabrication steps within the other microfabrication processes.interfacing with internal and external customers to identify optimal nanofabrication approaches; Reporting and dissemination of results: reporting the outcome of tests and fabrication steps to internal or external customers, preparing presentations and written reports; ▫ disseminating scientifically relevant results to workshops or conferences.Besides these main topics, the selected candidate will be also encouraged to develop research lines exploiting the opportunities provided by the new instrumentation. Background on semiconductor device physics and familiarity with cleanroom fabrication environment and high vacuum tools are valuable features.The ideal candidate should have:- Master Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or Materials Engineering;- knowledge of semiconductor microfabrication processes;- experience on semiconductor device physics;- experience with scanning electron microscopy;- experience with ultra-high vacuum instrumentation; familiarity with cleanroom fabrication environment and high vacuum tools are valuable features; good knowledge of English language (oral and written); willingness to spend a training period (1 month) abroad; flexibility; Strong teamwork attitude.Additional requirements: PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or related fields or equivalent 3-years research experience;- experience with Electron Beam Lithography and complimentary processes like electron resist deposition and development; - direct experience in semiconductor device fabrication and cleanroom environment work;- experience with software CAD/ tools for device layout design; scientific publications; visiting scholarships or experiences at international level.
