Job Description:The Digital Humanities (DH) research group is looking for a researcher to be involved in the Horizon2020 project “SIMPATICO”, which is coordinated by FBK and deals with automated text simplification in the administrative domain. We are looking for a researcher with a solid background in Natural Language Processing and a strong interest in the development of application-oriented tools for user-based simplification of documents, involving also testing with real users (citizens and civil servants). The ideal candidate is expected to be the main responsible of the project tasks related to simplification of Italian texts, including regular meetings with European consortium members, writing of deliverables, etc. The candidate will work in collaboration with students and researchers in the DH group and in the “Smart Community Lab” of FBK. The researcher is also expected to contribute to writing project proposals and to mentor interns and master students occasionally involved in the group activities. The candidate is expected to advance state-of-the-art research in language adaptation based on user and text profiling. The candidate will be mainly involved in the work packages related to “Interaction adaptation and personalization” and “Use-case management”.
